7 Ways To Engage With Fans on Social Media

Social Media has become one of the number one ways to grant interested consumers an inside look at what your brand is really about. Some of the most successful brands got their start from promoting on social media. Do you ever see the constant ads from brands promoting themselves or others promoting their brand? That could very well be YOU if you follow some (or all) of these tips on how to better interact with your social media followers.

Tip #1: Use the Stories feature on every social media platform that you can.

The Stories feature can be found on Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat. This feature allows for you to interact with your fans in real-time. For instance, you can upload polls asking what followers want to see… “Would you like to see [xxx] or [xxx]?”. Stories alsogive you the chance to show your followers more of a creative side to your work with fun filters, stickers and the usage of GIFs.

Tip #2: EMOJIS! 🥰

Using Emojis is a fun way to keep your followers engaged. Typically, a post with Emojis in the caption will attract more of a response than posts without Emojis. Plus, Emojis are just a strong eye-catcher. 🤗

Tip #3: Ask questions in your captions and allow followers to answer them in the comments section.

Asking questions in your questions and keeping your comments section open for the responses is a GREAT way to interact with your followers. While this is similar to creating polls, it allows for your followers to give real, honest answers to the questions you ask.

Tip #4: Respond to comments on your posts.

Most people love to feel like they are being noticed. What better way to do that than acknowledging the comments that they leave on your posts? If someone leaves a comment stating how much they enjoy your brand or your product, reply with something as simple as “Thank you, [insert name here]! We appreciate your feedback!”. Acknowledge their name, make followers feel that they are respected and cared for.

Tip #5: Keep up-to-date on real world events while keeping things unbiased in posts about said events.

Show your followers that you care about real-world topics. Whether it’s a historic event, a remembrance of a famous figure, or recognition of an upcoming event… people tend to support brands that talk about more than just their brand.

Tip #6: Keep your direct messages open and respond regularly.

Sometimes, followers will head to your direct messages to ask questions or leave feedback if they do not feel comfortable doing so in the comments section. We recommend that you reply to these messages. This, along with responding to comments, shows that you care and respect your followers.

Side note: If the comments or messages are negative, still respond. This shows that you take initiative and are willing to accept negative feedback, rather than just ignore it.

Tip #7: Don’t bash other brands similar (or not similar) to yours.

Staying professional on social media is important. When followers are viewing or interacting with your social media, they don’t want to see you talking negatively about other brands or other products. Keep your opinion to yourself.
